Privacy

What pixl keeps, what it sends elsewhere, and how to delete all of it. Short, because there is not much to say.

What we store

  • Your account. A name, an email address, and either a password (stored hashed, never readable by us) or the id Google gives us when you sign in with Google. Nothing else from your Google account is kept: no contacts, no calendar, no files.
  • Your show. The projects, layouts, sequences, controllers, shaders and files you make or upload. Audio and pictures sit on a disk attached to the server. This is your work and it is only visible to you and the people you share a project with, except for what you choose to publish to the shared library.
  • A session cookie. The one that keeps you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies, no analytics scripts.
  • Server logs. Requests and errors, with IP addresses, kept briefly for keeping the site running.

What leaves the server

Two features call other companies' services, and only when you use them. Writing a shader with the assistant sends your prompt to an AI model provider. Automatic lyric timing sends the audio and the lyrics you paste to a speech-to-text provider. Neither is used for anything but answering that request. Nothing else about you or your show is sent anywhere.

Where it lives

The hosted copy runs on Render in the United States. If you would rather keep everything on your own machine, self-hosting exists for exactly that.

Deleting it

Delete your sequences and files from inside the app whenever you like. To delete your whole account and everything in it, open a GitHub issue or write to the address in SECURITY.md, and it will be gone within a few days. Library entries you published are removed with it.
